Women’s Care Network

To the people praying outside of the abortion clinic: you saved my son’s life

Liz (Story submitted to SavetheStorks.com)

Women’s Care Network is a Memphis Coalition for Life program. We are a referral agency that focuses on connecting pregnant women with the resources and support they need.  The mission of WCN is to support and empower women to be able to successfully parent their children despite situational obstacles.

Women’s Care Network clients are women in crisis pregnancy situations who are turned around from the abortion clinic or referred to us by other life-affirming organizations.

We strive to educate women on the wealth of information and support available to them. We help women obtain the resources and support they need, empowering them to choose life for their babies. The practical outreach of WCN involves working to alleviate the obstacles women face during unplanned pregnancies by connecting them with free or low-cost resources that suit their specific needs. For these women, we offer:
  • Free Gifts
  • Free, one-on-one, woman-oriented, non-judgmental crisis-counseling
  • Free referrals to our Life-Affirming Coalition Partners
  • Baby showers for moms who choose life for their unborn child
  • Ongoing support during pregnancy and after, if needed.
  • Emotional support
  • Post-abortion counseling and referrals

What to Expect at Sidewalk Advocate Training

Who is this training for?: This training is for anyone who wants to take the next step to end abortion in Memphis. The Sidewalk Advocacy method used in Memphis by ordinary men and women has dramatically increased the amount of people who have left their appointments at the local abortion clinic. Men, women, and teens are welcome to attend and participate.

Where are the training sessions held?: We love our local Pregnancy Centers, and we will often hold our training sessions at the very Centers to which we refer women! We like the training atmosphere to be fun and relaxed, while also handling serious subject matter with the gravity and seriousness it deserves. You will feel right at home as you are learning how to save women and children from abortion.

What you will learn: By the end of the session, participants will be certified, equipped, and confident to be an advocate for abortion-minded women and to save unborn children from abortion on the local level. Participants will learn pertinent abortion laws, statistics, and methods practiced in Memphis, and how these factors affect outreach. Participants will also learn the laws of outreach to ensure that each volunteer on the sidewalk is peaceful and law-abiding.
